Eden Jeong sensed it before he knew it. The stare in the elevator, shadows flitting outside the window, digital noise on his screen — all too precise to be paranoia.

Now in his father Yohan’s secret bunker beneath Songdo International Center, he reviewed surveillance footage. The figure moved like it knew the blind spots. And it was heading for Sublevel 3 — the secured archive zone.

"Someone knows the layout. Too well."

The comm line buzzed. Agent Han-young of the NIS appeared.

"We've been breached. Your father's codebase—part of it has been decrypted. The trace came from a spoofed GFC node."

Eden typed rapidly. A familiar signature blinked across the screen:

"Kang Chul..."

Yohan had once warned him: Kang Chul wasn’t a destroyer — he was a rewriter. A ghost of Lazarus.

“Kang Chul is a compass without north. Add a blade to it, and it becomes a killer.”

That night, Eden replayed an encrypted audio log left by his father.

The next morning, a message arrived. Encrypted under the cipher ‘Yujin’s Hand’:

Seocho District, Old DAPA Building. She’s alive.

He followed the trace. His emotion-sensor detected a woman: 50s, North Korean dialect — his mother, Yujin Jeong.

And then—

"We saved her."

A man stepped from the dark. Kang Chul. He handed Eden a memory chip — the original waveform of Yujin’s emotional resonance.

"GFC wants to erase emotion, not regulate it. This is empathy distilled. They want to weaponize its absence."

But intruders stormed the lab. Chul opened an escape path for Eden.

"Take it. Decide what you’ll do. I’ll cover the shadows."

As Eden fled, his mother’s emotional core began to resonate.

[3 Days Later – Busan]

At the Emotion-Based Asset Center, Eden decrypted the waveform. It wasn’t a currency. It was empathy, alive.

[Same Time – Shanghai GFC HQ]

Strategist Lin Xiao stared at the resonance file.

"He moved."

Analyst Zhang Lan:

"Recursive resonance detected. Someone’s interacting."

"It’s Eden Jeong."

Lin Xiao deployed BIT — a resonance hunter. No emotion. No empathy.

[Underground Hideout]

Yohan and Chul detected BIT’s approach.

"D-3 maneuver. Get Eden north. I’ll hold here."

[Tunnel Confrontation]

BIT faced Yohan. The man he once knew.

"I couldn’t save you…"

"Eden will weaponize emotion. I must stop him."

"That’s not a weapon. That’s what makes us human."

Meanwhile, Eden asked:

"Does he... still feel?"

Chul didn’t answer. Just pushed him forward.

BIT knelt in silence, not following.

"I... remember. Someone once felt for me."

"Don’t lose that. That’s your last humanity," Yohan said.

At the core, Eden stood firm.

"I wasn’t chosen. I was loved."

The core bloomed open. Sequence YJ. Her voice—

지금 그는 송도 국제센터 지하에 있는 아버지 요환의 벙커에서 감시영상을 재생 중이다. 그림자는 마치 사각을 피하듯 움직였다. 그것은 지하 3층 보안 구역으로 향하고 있었다.

"누군가 구조를 꿰고 있어. 아주 정밀하게."

그때 통신이 울렸고, 국정원 요원 이한영이 나타났다.

"뚫렸어. 너희 아버지 코드 일부가 복호화됐어. GFC 위장 노드에서 신호가 나왔어."

이든은 빠르게 코드를 추적했고, 한 시그니처가 눈에 들어왔다:

다음 날, ‘유진의 손’ 암호로 암호화된 메시지가 도착했다.

서초구 옛 방위사업청. 그녀는 살아 있다.

이든은 곧장 현장을 찾았다. 감정 잔류값은 50대 북한 억양의 여성— 정유진을 가리켰다.

그때, 누군가 뒤에 말했다.

"우리가 그녀를 구했다."

강철이었다. 그는 감정 칩 하나를 건넸다. 정유진의 순정 감정 파형이 담긴 원형 데이터.

"GFC는 감정을 삭제하려 한다. 공감이 아닌— 결핍의 무기야."

순간, 연구소가 침입당했고, 강철은 이든에게 말했다.

"들고 나가라. 선택은 네 몫이다. 난 그림자 속에 남는다."

달리는 이든. 어머니의 감정 코어가 공명하기 시작했다.

감정 기반 자산관리소에서 그는 감정 파형을 복호화했다.
그건 화폐가 아니라 공감이었다.

전략실장 린 샤오가 공명 데이터를 바라보았다.

"이든이 움직였군."

그는 감정 차단 요원 ‘비트’를 한국에 투입시켰다.

"그건 무기가 아니다. 인간의 마지막이다."

이든은 묻는다.

"그도… 감정이 있을까요?"

강철은 대답 대신 등을 밀었다.

비트는 쫓지 않았다. 무릎 꿇고 중얼였다.

"나도… 기억이 있었지. 누군가 날 바라보던 감정."

"그걸 잃지 마라. 그게 네 마지막 인간성이야." 요환의 목소리.

이든은 코어 앞에 섰다.

"난 선택된 게 아니다. 사랑받은 거다."

코어가 열렸다. YJ 시퀀스. 그리고 어머니의 목소리.

“감정은 약점이 아니다. 감정은 기억이 살아 있는 방식이야.”
